Without rain, there is no rainbow. I drew this drawing, keeping the idea in mind. Ample rain and sunshine create an arch of rainbow. We see it often enough but whenever it appears, we all stop and look at it with awe.
I will add colors and textures to this drawing later.

Another artwork of "Creation of Islands". In this one, I try to show that the islands are offsprings of the Mother Earth. The volcano is the the breast of the Mother Earth,  is feeding energy (lava) to create islands.
When we hear the word "Creation", we tend to think of it as something happened many many years ago. In reality, the creation is still going on everyday, in the nature and within our own body, like renewal of all the bones.
This is the idea I try to express in the series.

Keana Point, the westernmost tip of land on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. I stood at the point twice in the past. Once when I did photo shooting as a project for the art class at Univ. of Hawaii. I was there with my photo buddies.
Years after, I stood there alone for the second time, trying to cope with a difficult time I was facing then. In both cases, the point offered me solace, for there, you get to see the wide expanse of ocean, which makes you feel open and free.

This is a new version of torn washi artwork. I kinda liked the lava part in the previous artwork so I used the same lava part, but added different elements to create a new content.

It is still in Tsuyu (rainy) season here in Jp. It does not mean that rain falls everyday during this time. We do have occasional fine sunny days. It was one of those fine days that I walked around my neighborhood. I found this house and the little chubby guy perched on the wall roof that surrounds the house. The guy is supposed to bring prosperity to the household. Well, the guy brought a nice summer photo for me, and I am good with that alone.

Kilauea volcano eruption still goes on. It has started since the beginning of May this year. I have been checking on the whole process almost daily. I am sorry to hear sorrow of those affected by the eruption. I made this artwork, being inspired by the event. I used washi papers, tore them, and then pasted. I also added some brush works to give some texture.

Just a few days ago, I finished a rather stressful task. I feel good now that it is over. The feeling is reflected in this photo haiku.

A friend of mine sent me a few photographs of tern. The form of tern inspired me. It seems to suggest a perfect form of the bird to me.
I did a few drawings from them, and eventually combined two drawings. And later worked on it with Photoshop, adding colors and textures.
