I started living in Honolulu from the age of 15, and I lived there until I finished my college education. All the while, I remained as a Japanese citizen. But, having lived there that long, I feel as if I had migrated to Hawaii as an immigrant. So I know a thing or two about what the immigration process involves. It is like uprooting a plant and replant it somewhere else.
