A scenery with Mt. Fuji. I take my wife, who needs walking assistance, to a beauty parlor. On the wall of the parlor is an image of Mt. Fuji. I enjoy the unexpected juxtaposition. A haiku moment, in deed, but alas no haiku.富士山のある風景。要介護の妻と美容室へ。シャンプーとカットの間、店内を見ると富士山の姿がありました。意外な組あせで俳句的なシーンですが、句は詠めません。残念。
Black Mt. Fuji / 黒富士 A night-scape of Mt. Fuji, hence the color black. The Milky Way flows in the dark night sky. I use the story of Tanabata in the painting. 富士山の夜景なので「黒富士」と命名しました。天の川が夜空を流れている情景です。七夕のお話を絵に含めました。
Active Mt. Fuji / 活富士：Mt. Fuji has been inactive since 1708. I let my imagination go and came up with this image of an erupting mountain. 富士山は1708年より噴火をしていません。しかし、活火山ですから想像力を働かして、噴火のイメージを絵にしてみました。
Red Mt. Fuji is considered auspicious and is liked by many Japanese. To celebrate the new year, I started this painting, then I heard the passing of my friend. He and I spent our formative years together. After the funeral, I resumed working on the painting, to ease the sadness in me. 赤富士は吉兆の姿として多くの日本人に好まれています。新年を迎え、この絵を描き始めた時、友人の訃報が届きました。青春時代を共に過ごした友でした。葬儀の後、悲しみを和らげるためこの絵を完成させました。
In the previous posting, I wrote a haiku about a patchy rainbow. This painting is based on it. What with the conditions of the world, the rainbow (symbol of happiness and hope) can only be patchy. 前回に「つぎはぎの虹」の俳句を投稿しました。この絵はそれに基づいています。新年を迎えましたが世の中ではあい変わらずの状況です。虹は幸せのシンボルですが、今のところはつぎはぎの虹ですね。
